1. Time savings: Remote reading eliminates the need for the physical presence of the driver or operator to download data from the tachograph. This saves time on travel and formalities related to transferring data

One location is provided free of charge by Data System on its servers (access to files via the DSLocate application); the second location is the customer's computer to which the files have been imported.

Remote tachograph reading is possible only for digital tachographs. Devices manufactured before 2004 may require verification of compatibility with the remote data download function.

For remote downloading of tachograph data to be possible, the installer must connect the DS/1TACHOTEL GPS tracker to sockets C and D of the tachograph. It is also required to provide Data System with a duplicate of the Company Card, which will be placed in a card reader in a secure server room. The files downloaded remotely are then available in the DSLocate application on the individual user account.

Remote reading can take place while driving or at a standstill, provided that the ignition is on. The procedure is fast, secure and does not require the driver's involvement, which makes it significantly more convenient than manually reading data from the tachograph.

Once the DS/1TACHOTEL GPS tracker has been installed and connected to the tachograph, the user also gains access to the current location of the vehicles and to information such as: fuel level, engine revs or accelerator pedal pressure. All of this data is available in the DSLocate application on smartphones and computers.

In addition, the DS/1TACHOTEL GPS tracker is certified by the National Revenue Administration, which means it can be used to settle toll road journeys under the e-TOLL service, and also allows the SentGeo service to be activated, enabling several functions to be handled from a single DSLocate application.
